Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)

Know more about the little details while coming to Solace.

HOW LONG IS THE NORMAL PROGRAMME?

The standard residential programme (not counting time spent in the hospital, if needed) is 28 days. Some guests opt to extend this by a week or two in order to ensure they receive the best chance at recovery. We have seen extensions for one or two months, but this is optional.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I REALLY NEED TREATMENT?

This question does not have a simple answer, but a consultation with one of our counsellors can help determine the extent of your problems and the best course of action. You can use our simple addiction assessment here.

WILL I BE ABLE TO DRINK OR TAKE DRUGS SOCIALLY WHEN I AM FINISHED?

We employ a scientifically developed evidence and practice-based treatment model. This allows for the guest and counsellor to come to a mutual agreement on the definition of recovery and relapse. This is particularly important for behaviour / process dependencies, such as food or sex where total abstinence is not possible.

WILL I HAVE TO GO THROUGH DETOX WHEN I ARRIVE?

Each guest who arrives at Solace receives a comprehensive medical examination and report. Our staff psychiatrist and internal medicine specialist will determine if medical detox is required and discuss the options with you. We employ the most advanced Detox protocol available in the world today.

WILL I BE ABLE TO STAY IN TOUCH WITH MY FAMILY WHILE IN REHAB?

While at Solace, we encourage to use this opportunity to focus on yourself and your recovery while avoiding external distractions. We do, however, have allotted time when guests may communicate with loved ones via telephone or internet.

WILL I BE ABLE TO KEEP MY CIGARETTES WHILE I AM HERE?

We encourage guests to make as many health conscious choices as possible, while smoking cessation services are available, we do tolerate tobacco use in designated locations on-site.

ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL ITEMS I SHOULD BRING FOR STAYING IN THE TROPICS?

Once your reservation is confirmed, you will be e-mailed "pre-arrival" information that explains which items are needed or disallowed at the Solace Rehab.

WILL I HAVE MY OWN ROOM OR WILL I HAVE TO SHARE?

You can choose between a private room, a twin sharing room or a sharing a room with four patients (Quad Share). Of course, the treatment fees differ between the choices. Learn more about Solace Asia treatment choices here.

I HAVE SPECIAL DIET REQUIREMENTS. WILL YOU BE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE THIS?

We employ a professional dietician who will work with you to design a healthy eating plan, and inform the kitchen staff of any of your dietary needs based on health, religious requirements, or personal preference. All the food served in Solace is 100% Halal compliant.

CAN MY FAMILY COME VISIT ME?

Guests / Family are not allowed visitors for the first 7 days of primary treatment. After the first week, visitations are allowed on a time arranged by the clinical team. Families also get to participate in the program.
