Detoxification is a very crucial starting point to treatment. It is the removal of all substances and toxins from the patient who is acutely intoxicated and/or dependent on substances of abuse. It seeks to minimize the physical harm of the substance taken. At Solace Asia, we follow a thorough and scientifically proven method for the detoxification of our new intakes.
These rooms come with the following facilities:
Patients coming in to Solace Asia will firstly be put through a detoxification that will be conducted at Kota Kinabalu’s (KK) plush Jesselton Medical Center (JMC). This is KK’s premier hospital, whose medical team will work around the clock to ensure that our clients get the best medical treatment and tests necessary for their physical well-being prior to entering our rehabilitation facility.
TIP45 or Treatment Improvement Protocol 45 series is published by the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to provide clinicians with up to date information as well as expand on issues commonly encountered in the delivery of detoxification services.
Our off-site Psychiatrist having been trained in TIP45 will know how to evaluate, stabilize and foster our patients prior to intake. He will ensure that our clients will be ready for treatment and that everything which is medically prescribed by this internationally recognized detoxification protocol is followed according to its established guidelines.
At Solace Asia, one will not experience the shortcomings faced by simply depending on an on-site detoxification unit. There are some rehabilitation centers that have on- site detoxification facilities. This is highly dangerous and unethical for new intakes because detoxification is not just about the removal of the toxins from our patients’ bodily system. It is also about ensuring our clients’ physical welfare has had a thorough examination. For example,we had a client who had kidney problems, which we found out due to our hospital collaboration while he was an inpatient at JMC. He went for testing and the results propelled immediate action to treat his kidneys. If that were to be done on-site, the wait to the hospital alone; would jeopardize the patient’s life as imminent action is needed! At Solace Asia you can rest assure that our clients’ overall physical well-being is taken care of at our hospital facility.
